"Simon Kenton Drouillard was living in Lawrence County (Ohio) and working as a tax collector in 1817. He moved to Marion County, IA, probably in the early 1840's. Several children had been born by this time, and census reports gave their birth places as Ohio.
About 1849 or so, Simon and his family moved to California along with a brother of Cynthia (Richard Billups).
In 1850 Simon was back in Marion County, IA and from all reports he made two or more additional trips back and forth between Iowa and California."
