Paul Richard "Cletus" Hines, 59, of Newberry, Michigan, passed away in his home on December 6, 2016. He was born January 18, 1957 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan to David Richard Hines and Joan (Macrae) Hines. He attended schools in Michigan and in Independence, Missouri after his family moved there in 1964. Over the years he lived in such varying locales as Cincinnati, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Baltimore, finally settling in Newberry, Michigan in 2004 to be close to his widowed father and two of his brothers. He worked for Helen Newberry Joy Hospital until 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Hines, in 2004, by both sets of grandparents, by three uncles, an aunt, and five cousins. He is survived by his father, David Hines, of Lakefield Township, MI; three brothers--David M. Hines, Kansas City, KS; Steven E. Hines and Matthew A. (Brenda) Hines, Newberry, MI; a sister, Elaine Hines of Kansas City, KS; nieces and nephews; grandnieces; two uncles and an aunt; several cousins; and beloved friends. In memory of him, please fire up "A Message from the King" by the Bob Rivers Comedy Troupe this Christmas Eve and have a strong drink. And in honor of him, if you smoke, PLEASE QUIT. This is the only obituary there will be, and even this is more than he wanted. If you love someone, tell them now. Tomorrow may be too late.
