She was born on December 11, 1930 in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Harold and Alice Martin, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Linda J. Dreaden on May 15, 2017.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Errol Myron Carpenter and her daughter Karin E. McKee (Johnny). She has four grandchildren; Brent McKee (Kristy), David McKee (Jill), Brittany Carden (Trent) and Lee Dreaden as well as four great-grandchildren; Riley McKee, Bryson McKee, Ryder McKee and Michael Carden.
Elaine was a Registered Nurse and devoted her career to caring for the elderly.
Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. No matter what was happening to her she never failed to keep up with her family and the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elaine loved to cook, knit, sew, had a passion for collecting antique dolls and lived to help others.
Graveside services will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on June 19, 2017 at 11am.
A memorial and celebration of life dinner will be held in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church fellowship hall June 10, 2017 at noon.
