GALVESTON—Donnie Ray Brown Sr., 58, of Galveston, Texas went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2017, at Harbor Hospice of Houston, TX.
Donnie was born on August 18, 1958, to Thomas and Thelma Brown in Galveston, TX. He graduated from Ball High School with the class of 1977, and later graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in 1984, receiving his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc..
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, and leaves cherish memories with his sons, Donnie R. Brown Jr. (Samantha), and Dominique Brown (Charaya); daughter, Shannon Samuel (Jeremy); grandchildren, Skylar Brown, Dominic Brown, Jaxen Samuel, Jeremiah Samuel, Dawson Brown, and Jacob Samuel; brothers, Thomas “Buffalo” Brown (Greta); sister, Diane Brown (Lawrence); nieces, Angela Jacobs (Tommy) and Taylor Brown; great nephew, Tommy Jacobs, Jr.; great niece, Kindal Brown; special friend, Dee Williams, and other relatives and friends.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary, with Rev. Dwayne Carpenter officiating.
