Former Hamilton Lake resident, Jo Ann E. Bennett, age 73 died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born April 4, 1944 in Defiance, the daughter of Marcine L. (Bauer) and the late Ira Slusser. In 1962 she married Dennis Bennett, who preceded her in death in 2004. She retired from Findley Industries, Ohio City, as supervisor. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Grover Hill, and loved reading, boating, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Marcine Cooper, Cecil; four children, Sherry (Roger) Flint, Paulding, Michael (Tara) Bennett, Scott, Mitchell (Michelle) Bennett, and Bernadette Bennett both of Grover Hill; siblings, Sam (Debbie) Slusser, Defiance, Marion Slusser, Cecil, Shirley Groll, Defiance, Florence McClish, Elida, and Teresa (Richard) Ysasaga, Englewood, FL; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by a son, Terry Bennett and a sister, LaDonna Lewis.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, May 27 at Zion United Methodist Church, Grover Hill. She will be laid to rest in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill.

Visitation will be Friday, May 26 from 12 noon until 8 PM at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will also be visitation on Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to CHP Hospice or Zion United Methodist Church.
