Billy Ray Daniels, 66, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home.
Billy was born in Wayne County Jan. 25, 1951, to the late Johnny and Dorothy Blizzard Daniels.
He was a dedicated member of Goldsboro Fire Department, where he served for 30 years. Billy loved being a fire fighter with all his heart and soul.
He also proudly served in the North Carolina National Guard for 18 years.
Billy had a huge heart, always giving and reaching out to others; there wasn't a stranger he hadn't met.
He loved to make people laugh. Most would remember the joy that Billy's presence would bring.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 6 to 7 p.m. and following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, with a service to celebrate Billy's life at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with fireman honors.
Billy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ginger Daniels; daughter, Julie Rose and husband, David; son, Harlan Daniels and wife, Blair; son, Anthony Tilghman; and grandchildren, Laura Bunn and husband, Joey, Andrew Rose, Olivia Daniels, Katelyn Daniels, Chloe Daniels, Jarrod Tilghman and Adalyn Tilghman.
He is also survived by his sister, Juanita Edmundson and husband, Jimmy, and brothers, Troy Daniels and wife, Joyce, Donald Daniels and wife, Becky, and David Daniels and wife, Myra.
