He married Bonita Seltrecht on a cruise ship docked in New Orleans.
He graduated from Downers Grove South High School, Downers Grove, Ill. in 1976 and followed in his father’s footsteps and learned the heating, air conditioning and sheet metal trade. He served a 4 year union sheet metal apprenticeship from 1976 to 1980, through Local 265 Dupage Co., Ill. In 1981 he moved to Wausaukee and started A&M Heating & A/C in Wausaukee, which he successfully owned and operated until 2007. Before he passed away, he was an employee of Decor Products in Wausaukee, WI. He enjoyed watching the Packers, NASCAR races, riding ATVs and boating on Lake Noquebay with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita; two children, Nicole (Joseph) Stapleford and Kevin Hood, both of Wausaukee, WI; three stepchildren, Monica Flint of Crivitz, WI; Michael (Melissa) Flint of Fort Lee, VA and Allen Flint of Green Bay, WI; five grandchildren; a sister, Debbie (Jeff) Ferguson of Monument, Colo. and two brothers, Art (Joanne) Hood, jr. of Glennwood Springs, Colo. and Gordon Hood of Niles, Ill.
