L.V. Blythe, 77 Dies in Hospital

L. Valentine Blythe, aged 77, farmer of the Blackfork comunity, near Greenbrier, died at Memorial Hospital here today. Mr Blythe entered the hospital last Thursday following a heart attack at his home.

He was born in Summerville, Ga., November 19, 1870, and lived in this state practically all his life. His late wife, to whom he was married in 1891, was the former Christine Johnson. Mr. Blythe was a Methodist.

He is survived by two sons, Gordon Blythe, of Oakland, Calif., and Doyne Blythe, of Little Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Ivy Shumate of Conway; a brother M. T. Blythe of Greenbrier; four sisters, Adeline Belote and Mrs. Lou Dillaha of Greenbrier, Mrs. Delia Blessing of Conway and Mrs. Hattie Powell of Vilonia, and two grandchildren, Buford Shumate and Barbara Dawn Blythe.

Funeral services will be held at the Blackfork community church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be by Pence's funeral home.
