William Carroll Whitlock, father of Herman Whitlock, McMinnville produce and feed dealer, died at his home in the 11th district Monday afternoon at 1:40 o'clock. He was 73. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Charles Creek Church with Rev. Rowland Whitlock and Rev. Cling Bryson officiating. Burial was in the Charles Creek Cemetery. Mr. Whitlock was a native of Warren County, the son of Monroe Whitlock and Mary (Bates) Whitlock. He was born on December 23, 1874, and was married to the former Miss Minnie Harding, who survives. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by another son, Otis Whitlock of Knoxville: three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Hughes, Mrs. Luther Hughes, and Mrs. Henry Bond, all of McMinnville; and two brothers, Rev. Whitlock and E.C. Whitlock, former police chief of McMinnville. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
