Henderson, Joann, 88, bookkeeper, died May 19. Services 11 a.m. Tuesday, First Baptist Church (Martin-Dugger, Elk City).

Joann Henderson, age 88, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on January 18, 1929 in Dill City, Oklahoma to Fred Lee and Goldia LaVada (Mosier) Stubblefield.

She went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2017 at Great Plains Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She married her friend, Leland Henderson on January 13, 1978 in Canadian, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1999.

Joann worked as a bookkeeper for Cooper West Agency.

Joann enjoyed watching basketball whether it be Elk City or the Oklahoma City Thunder, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She volunteered all the time at the Rt. 66 Museum.

She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Elk City, the Elks Lodge where she would cook for the cadets that came in and Cultus Club.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Dr. Russell Duck will officiate.

Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Laveta Stout and her husband, Van of Elk City, Oklahoma; her brother, Terry Stubblefield of Ovalo, Texas; sister, Patricia Washuata of Grand Prairie, Texas; two grandchildren; Mike Stout and his wife, Tammie, Mark and his wife, Karen all of Elk City, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sylvia Stubblefield of Houston, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leland Henderson; brothers, Troy Stubblefield and Ted Stubblefield; Sister, Katherine V. Lacey.

The family request memorial contributions be made Rt. 66 Museum in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.
