In 1981 he married DeAna Christy, and though the marriage did not last, they were blessed with three children who were the loves of his life, Brooke, BreAnna, and Brandon. In 1990 he started his career as a firefighter for the city of Taft, and in 2007 he began working for the Kern County Fire Department, where he was well liked and respected by his fire family.
Brian was a very caring and generous father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents and children, those left behind to grieve him are his brothers, Brett (Justine), Todd (Kim); his grandchildren, Kinidie and Kenzington Massey; and fiancée Glenna Seely; her children, Jason, Shannon (Evan), and Haley; and her grandchildren, Nolan, Grady, and two more on the way. Also, many nieces and nephews and several extended family members. Brian was preceded by grandparents, Leland and Verdie Massey, and “Dude” and Tressie Taylor.
Services will be held at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Avenue, on Friday, May 26th, at 11:30 a.m.
Graveside services immediately following at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane.
