Edgar Shotts Wright, 99, Russellville, passed away Feb. 9 at Southern Magnolia Nursing Home in Golden, Miss. Mrs. Wright was a member of First United Methodist Church of Russellville and had worked for many years as a seamstress and also a school cook. She will be most remembered for her 20 plus years of serving as a Foster Grandparent at West Elementary School in Russellville, from which she finally retired in 2013 due to health issues. She loved being around children, and they all loved her.
The visitation will be 6-8 pm, Feb. 10 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:30 pm Feb. 11 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Burial will be at Shottsville Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. Wright; stepson, Walton R. Wright; parents, William Arthur and Lizzie (Brown) Shotts; siblings, Aaron Shotts, Ray Shotts, I. J. Shotts, Leon Shotts, Edna Holcomb, Jessica Smith and Loree Houlditch. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews.
