He was born in Butte to Kenneth and Agnes Gavigan. Mick was the oldest of six children. He served in the military in Korea. After his time in the military, he worked as an electrician for AT&T and then as a construction electrician for various phone companies. He then retired to Hayden, Idaho, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and his other support family of 26 years (Alcoholics Anonymous). He also worked part time at the Bulldog Pipe and Cigar Co. Any summer you could find him at the lake indulging in a little rest and relaxation and enjoying the good company of friends.
Mick is survived by his mother, Agnes Gavigan; sisters, Joyce Keller, Judy (Mark) Lamers, Debbie (Bob) Hopewell; brothers, Terry (Helen) Gavigan and Tom (Joan) Gavigan; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; and children, Ken (Tina) Wright and Angie Guy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Gavigan.
Mick will be missed and loved by all who knew him, especially his special friend of many years, Geraldine "Gerry" Mahoney.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, followed by a celebration of his life at Hearthstone Retirement Community, 1185 Honeysuckle, Hayden, Idaho.
