Virginia Nell Freeman, 90, a resident of McComb, MS, passed away May 15, 2017 at McComb Nursing and Rehab.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Jones Family Funeral Home, 905 Park Dr. from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Montgomery Baptist Church cemetery.

Ms. Freeman was born September 19, 1926 in Harahan, LA to Henry Clay Freeman and Ruby Dickerson Freeman.

She was an active member of Montgomery Baptist Church. She was the voice and familiar face you saw when entering the McCrory's in downtown McComb until retiring when the store closed. She was featured as an "Unsung Hero" in the Enterprise Journal for her tireless efforts helping her friends and neighbors at Timber Ridge Apartments. The family wishes to thank the staff of McComb Nursing and Rehab and St. Luke Home Health and Hospice for their help and understanding during this time.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Floyd Freeman, Claude L. Freeman, Henry Earl Freeman and Raymond Ray Freeman; sisters, Edith Inez Freeman Wallace and Freda Nell Freeman.

Ms. Freeman is survived by her sisters, Katherine Freeman Brown of Bogue Chitto, MS and Bobbie Freeman Alexander and her husband Arthur of Metairie, LA; a sister-in-law, Evelyn M. Freeman of Byram, MS, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be her nephews Jim Freeman, Gary Freeman, Jeffery Freeman, Keith Freeman, Gerald Wallace and Eddie Roberts.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Ms. Virginia Freeman's name may be made to Montgomery Baptist Church.
