Mrs. Verhasselt was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1944. On July 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to Raymond Verhasselt in Phlox. Mr. Verhasselt preceded her in death in 1978. After marriage, she and her husband dairy farmed in the town of Vilas. She was a homemaker and after her husband passed away, she served as Treasurer for the Town of Vilas. In 1986 Mrs. Verhasselt moved to Antigo. She was employed by Hunter's Supermarket and then Lakeside Grocery and Pharmacy, working from 1987-2009.
She enjoyed spending time in her yard reading, solving puzzle books, and doing yard work. She loved playing sheepshead, cribbage, and dominoes. As a member of Faith United Church of Christ she enjoyed Tuesday coffee hour. Above all else, she treasured the times when she was visiting with family and friends.
Mrs. Verhasselt is survived by 2 daughters, Kathy (Greg) Pregler of Antigo and Jeanne (Steve) Broehm of Manitowoc; 2 sons, Ron (Becki) Verhasselt of Wausau and Ray "Butch" Verhasselt of Milwaukee; a daughter-in-law Cindy Verhasselt of Antigo; 9 grandchildren, Bill (Jessica) Verhasselt of Green Bay, Bob (Mindy) Verhasselt of Weston, Tasha (special friend Brian Wilhelm) Verhasselt of Weston, Laurie Verhasselt of Elcho, Danae (special friend Kristal VanDenBerg) Verhasselt of Appleton, Heather Verhasselt of Antigo, Bree (Chad) Theilman of Birnamwood, Nick (special friend Amy Peters) Pesl of Rothschild, and Pete Pesl of Weston; 13 great grandchildren, Caden, Kyan, Calen, Kristi, Kyle, Kralen, Kinzley, Joshua, Elizabeth, Destinee, Jayce, Alyssa, and Jacob; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ben and Eloise Verhasselt, Glenn and Agnes Krivoshein, Clem and Carol Verhasselt, Katy Brittenham, Lucy VerHagen, Pat Verhasselt, Helen Verhasselt ; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Verhasselt was preceded in death by a son Larry Verhasselt; 4 brothers Carl, Irvin, Elmer, Paul Jr. Janke; 3 sisters, Viola Roen, Edna Gee, and Elsie Kleinmann; brother-in-law Frank Verhasselt; and sister-in-law Bernie Noskowiak.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Father Omer Kelley will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7 P.M. Friday and 9:30-10:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Forestview Cemetery in the Town of Vilas.

Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and Saturday from 9:30AM until 10:30 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home.
