Joe “Delaney” Wells II age 63 of Atascosa, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 17, 2017. Born November 23, 1954 in San Antonio Texas, Joe worked for many years at various jobs in the aviation industry including Alcor Aviation and The Dee Howard Corporation. He served as the fire chief at the Southwest Volunteer Fire Department for several years during the 1980s. He also served as the President of the Bexar County Firefighters Association from 1984-1987. In recent years, he accepted Jesus into his heart and life and became a born again Christian.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of LaCoste Texas at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations to be given to the George Hall Benevolence Fund at First Baptist Church LaCoste. The church address is PO Box 219, LaCoste, TX 78039.
