DIED---At his late residence in Lyon township, R. M. Russell, age 76 years, 9 months and 3 days. Funeral services were held at the house, May 20th, conducted by Rev. Volmar.

Albert, with his twin brother, Alfred, 14 years of age, and another brother, Ira, walked from Amity, Missouri to Kansas crossing the Missouri River in 1887, herding the family cattle behind their covered wagons.
The trip of 265 miles took thirty days bringing his parents, grandfather Russell and 8 children to Kansas.
Their 10 brothers and sisters, included another pair of twins, Ira and Ida
