Obituary for Jeffrey Garner II

Jeffrey S. Garner, II, was born on December 29, 1991 and immediately “Scotty” was loved by all.

He was the older of two brothers. Scotty became a BIG brother on December 25th, 1995 and was so proud of his new status. He took his role as big brother very seriously and always looked out for his little brother. As many people know, the two of them together usually resulted in many hilarious, laughter-filled moments.

Scotty joined Cub Scouts Pack 83 as a wolf and earned his Arrow of Light with Pack 487. As he crossed over into Boy Scouts with Troop 487, he learned to leave Mom & Dad behind on weekends. Changing over to Troop 335, he joined Order of the Arrow (OA), helped train other scouts through National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), and soared to Eagle Rank.

The lessons learned through scouting, church & family led to him accepting God’s gift of Holy Baptism on January 10, 2010.

From elementary at Brownsville Road School to Craigmont Middle & High School to graduating with Gateway Christian School – he excelled and made friends with whoever he met. Scotty started Southwest Tennessee Community College early and met his best friend Elisa. He graduated with an Associate of Applied Science, Information Technology – Programming Concentration in 2011.

Our son continued loving life; laughed easily, often & out loud; and never shied away from showing affection. He always said he could never do enough to earn the “Suck up to Mom” merit badge. Scotty loved playing many different types of games with people all over the world. He was a self-proclaimed “Nerd” and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others – in person or through streaming.

Scotty was known by all for having a gentle giant persona, giving the best hugs, and a kindness extended to everyone he met. He has been described as an example of what a good man should be.

Scotty recently found the love of his life – his lovely lady, Brianna Jamison. The plans for their future were being laid out. He kissed her goodbye and told her he would text her when he arrived home. He never reached home…

An auto accident struck him down in the prime of life on May 18, 2017. (25 years of age.) He flew immediately to the arms of God, his Nana, Dad (grandfather), Grandma, Granddaddy, and many other loving angels in Heaven. Until we see him again – Jeff 'Bear' Garner & Donna Garner (parents), Joey Garner(brother), his lovely Brianna Jamison, best friend Elisa Alicea, “Sissy” Kristie Garner & Mike Tamboli, Aunt Carrie & Uncle David Campbell, Uncle Robert C Pratt & Jennie, Uncle Tommy Pratt & Taren, along with countless family – which includes scouters, scouts, gamers & friends - will keep his memory alive.
