Jean was a graduate of St. Cecilia High School and Falls Business College. Jean received many accolades and awards throughout her business career. She and Mike Nunley became the first two employees of the Rutherford County EMS in October, 1972. Jean retired in 2003 marking 31 years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro and St. Edward and Holy Name both in Nashville, TN.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Young of Nashville; and a brother, Pat Young of Donelson, TN.
Jean is survived by her children, Michael Goad and Pat Goad both of Nashville, John Goad of Murfreesboro, and Mary Goad of Hermitage, TN; brother, Russell Young and a sister, Joanna Elizabeth “Bibi” Jungman both of Nashville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeal Mass will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Breen will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Jean can be made to a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Church.
