Mrs. Helen Tyner Monroe
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Tyner Monroe of Newton were held Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. from Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank Harmon and the Rev. Dale McCord officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery with Webb Funeral Home, Newton in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Monroe died Monday, December 14, at Rush-Newton Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Newton County Bank.
Survivors include her husband, G. C. (Sonny) Monroe, Newton; one son, George Monroe, Newton; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Ivy, Brandon; two brothers, Joe Robert Tyner, Clarksdale and Roger Tyner, Jackson and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Hart, Wilmer Whittle, George Nicholson Jr., Harold Carleton, Wayne Carleton and Tobe Ivy Jr.
