KERR, CAROL ANN (MORITZ), 73 OF DERRY, PA

went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, PA.

She was born June 13, 1943 in Torrance, PA, the daughter of the late Elder Moritz and Ruth (Howard) Moritz.

Carol was a graduate of Derry Area High School Class of 1961. Following graduation she worked briefly for the US Naval Dept. in Washington, DC.

She was married to Raymond P. Kerr on January 19, 1963.
The couple served together in ministry of various kinds for over 50 years. They served in the United Methodist Churches at Brush Valley, Torrance, Hillside, Manorville, Rogers Chapel, Ohl, Cliff, Mount Pleasant, Stanton, Marion Center and Hillside once again.

They were founders and resident directors of a Christian Drug Rehabilitation facility near Punxsutawney called New Life Acres. They also formed a group for Christian coffee shop ministry in Blairsville called the Potter's Cellar. She also helped in ministry at Gray Station Community Church.

Carol loved to sew, cook and scrapbook. She loved being with her Family and in years past, was active in the various Church's women's group, 4-H and loved to support missionary groups and local charitable groups. She was loved by family, friends and all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her son, Randy Kerr & wife, Dianna of Derry, PA; son, Matthew Kerr & wife, Amy of Derry, PA; daughter, Suzanne Dixon & husband, Shawn of Bradenville, PA; daughter, Jodi Fleming & husband, Jerry of Latrobe, PA; grandchildren: Robert, Jacob, Amber, Ryan, John, Alex and Bethany; sister, Nancy Sprock; sister, Brenda Flitton and also several Nieces, Nephews, and Great Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Raymond P. Kerr in 2015; sister, Mary Jane Feldbusch; sister, Ileen Marsh and brothers, Henry, Charles & Robert Moritz.

The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Hillside, PA.
