Martin V. Gessner, 79, passed away Friday in St. Lukes hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Leona (Albright) Gessner. They were married for 48 years. He was born in Center Valley; he was the son of the late Theodore & Mildred (Newhard) Gessner. He was a Marine serving in the Korean War. He loved his family, farming and enjoyed antique cars & tractors. He was a past member of the Rhododendron Society. He was employed 41 years at Western Electric, retiring in 1991. Survivors: In addition to his wife; 2 sons Jeffrey, husband of Jeanne of Spring City, David husband of Michele of Macungie; two daughters, Jennifer wife of Robert Ceretti, Macungie & Diane Gessner, Allentown; two Sisters, Dolores wife of Robert Wiesner, Allentown, and Carol N. wife of Daniel Yocum of Lanark; six grandchildren, Brianna, Stephen, Alyssa, Cassandra, Joshua and Lexi. Services: Tuesday 11 a.m. at Emmanuel A/G Church, 1431 Lehigh Parkway East, Allentown. Officiating; Rev. Dr. Robert Coutts and Pastor Philip Propson. Interment private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
