Janet Kay Reeves, 69, of San Angelo, Texas, joined the Lord on Jan. 29, 2016.

She was born on the 13th of November, 1946, in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Janet's world travels began in 1954, when she lived in Panama and attended an elementary school in Balboa in the Canal Zone.

In 1957, she was living in Wichita, Kansas, with her grandparents, and by 1958, she was in school in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She and her sister practically lived on the beach and in Bedwood Forest when the family moved to Riverside, California.

From there, Janet found herself in the Taipei American School in Taiwan, and taking trips back to California to visit friends and family and Disneyland.

In 1961, Janet moved to San Antonio, Texas, and worked with her sister in a bakery while in school.

She graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1965. Janet lived on campus until she received her degree from Eastern New Mexico University, then moved to San Angelo, Texas, with the rest of her family returning from Hawaii.

She was married to Robert Glenn Reeves on the 13th of April, 1968, and enjoyed immensely her career in childcare for over four decades. She cherished her experiences and memories with the countless children, and then their own children, over her many years of dedicated service and tutelage.

She was an avid sports fan, dedicated member and leader of ARCCH and the Gideons, and had an incomparable passion for Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Glenn Reeves of San Angelo; sons Charles Reeves of Denver and Don Ray Reeves of San Angelo; sisters Paula Ackerman, Terri Meyer, Kathy Taylor; her father, Melvin Meyer; and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Meyer of San Angelo, Texas.

There will be a public viewing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Glen Meadows Baptist Church with a graveside service to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Memorial gifts may be made in Janet's name to Gideons International.
