Born in Dunkirk on October 18, 1937, she lived in Albany for the past several years. She was co-owner of The Biscuit Bar, Muncie, and Redkey Coffee Shop and cooked at various area locations over the years including YMCA's Camp Crosley. Betty enjoyed NASCAR, collecting angels and trips to the casino. She particularly enjoyed being with family and visits from her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Denny E. Rogers, Albany; three daughters, Deborah Poore-VanScyoc, Dunkirk, Betty Miller (husband, Steve), Albany and Penny McCarthy (husband, Mike), South Vienna, OH; a self-adopted daughter, Diane Morales, Dunkirk; her stepmother, Alma Norris, Dunkirk; 5 brothers: Darrell Norris (wife, Charlotte), Pennville, Clell Norris, Jr. (wife, Colleen), Pennville, Mike Norris (wife, Zora), Portland, Bruce Norris (wife, Cathy), Portland and David Walser (wife Karen), Anderson; five sisters, Patty Quinton (husband, Junior), Alexandria, Natalie Turner (husband: Scott), Dunkirk, Lori Powell (husband, Clarke), Portland, Mary Walser, Anderson and Carol Walser-Friend, Alexandria; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Clell R. Norris, Sr.; her mother, Wahneeta (McCombs) Walser; her step-father, Francis Walser; and a brother, Larry Walser.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery, Dunkirk.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
