Son of Nathaniel and Rhoda Burt. Husband of Mary Burnett. I believe this to be a memorial only. It would seem unlikely that having died in the war in Tennessee, he would not have been buried here, as the cost of transporting the body would have been prohibitive.

Enlisted on 12 August 1862 at Hubbardston, Ionia County, Michigan; he was residing in North Shade Township, Gratiot County, Michigan prior to his enlistment at 39 years of age; mustered in on 4 September 1862, Company K, Michigan 21st Volunteer Infantry Regiment as a Private; died of disease (gastritis) in a Field Hospital at Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee.
