Dollie was born on February 24, 1936 in Greenville, Alabama to the late Fredie and Linnie Jones. She married Frederick Wilson in 1958 and they were married for 58 years. She was a homemaker and he was a Master Sargent in the United States Airforce. The couple welcomed 3 children into their home. Her children remember her as a kind and supportive mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She liked to keep them well fed and well dressed. Being a military family they moved several times, ultimately bringing them to Anchorage, Alaska.
Dollie was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading. She also loved antiquing and had passion for interior and exterior designing. She was a snow bird to Palm Springs, California for several years before her passing. She will be sorely missed and remembered for her tenacity, wit, charm, grace, and impeccable style.
Dollie is survived by her loving husband, Frederick Wilson; 3 sons and their spouses, Anthony and Renee Wilson, Rock and Kim Wilson, and Guner and Holly Wilson; sister- in-law Sadie Jones; brother-in-law George Wilson, sisters-in-law Beth Morgan and Sandra Hay; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother James Jones.
A private family service was held to celebrate her life. Condolences may be sent to [email protected]. The family wishes to thank the Providence Hospital staff for their efforts and care in the past two months.
