He was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service and of the Christian faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Borden and Odelene Winningham Vickers; and a sister, Anita Vickers.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Younger Vickers of Ozone; a son, Robert Paul Vickers Jr. of Altus, Arkansas; two daughters: Robbie Pitts and Tammie Dunlap and husband, Charlie, all of Clarksville, Arkansas; a brother, Charles Vickers and wife, Martha, of Texas; two sisters, Dr. Norma Compton and husband, J.T., and Wilma Moore and husband, Wayne, all of Mountain View, Arkansas; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas.
