Elaine McDonald (84) (Anna Elaine) passed away in Tucson, Arizona on March 21, 2017 after a long illness.
Born in Salt Lake City on Nov. 3, 1932 to European parents, Olaf Wilhelm (Norway) and Anna Magdalena Fredriksen Feragen (Denmark), Elaine was a graduate of East High. She is predeceased by one sister, Frances Bird and husband, Gil McDonald. As a young girl Elaine played violin and found her singing voice where she performed in choirs throughout her life. On Nov. 5, 1954 she married Gil Alan McDonald in Salt Lake City and raised their three sons, Mike, Steve and Greg.
Elaine served as an active member in her church, Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church and was always kind and charitable to those less fortunate. She worked at Continental Bank and the DMV in the accounting department. Elaine loved dogs, skiing and golf, which she enjoyed into her late seventies playing in many golf tournaments in the Salt Lake Women's League.
Elaine is survived by sons Mike (Tucson, AZ), Steve (Park City, UT) and Greg (Scottsdale, AZ), their spouses Susan Winter McDonald, Lori Carn McDonald and Traci Williams McDonald and grandchildren Gillian, AJ and Sophie McDonald. Her kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
