Benjamin Franklin Glatt, 79, of 3701 Prentice Ave., died Monday. Born in Columbia County, Ga., he was a son of the late Benjamin F. and Mattie Hawes Cliatt. Mr. Cilatt was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee of 34 years. He attended Mercer University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Episolon fraternity. He was also a member of Richland Masonic Lodge No. 39, AFM, Shandon Baptist Church and the Berean Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Inez Frick Cliatt; sons, Kenneth M. and Benjamin F. Cliatt of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Susan C. Scott of Gainesville, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Emmie Carlyon of Rayle, Ga., and Mrs. Lois Parrish and Mrs. Nell Warren of Cleveland; and grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shandon Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. John R. Lincoln and the Rev. Jerry G. Long. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Thomas C. Wells, J. Stanley Frick, Marion Trotti, Richard Collum, Bud M. Tibshrany and Hubert Amick. Memorials may be made to the Shandon Baptist Church building fund. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge.
