Vantrease Funeral Home Noah King, Jr., 88, of Mulkeytown, Illinois passed away at 10:26 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Marion with his loving family at his side. Noah was born October 18, 1928 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Noah and Martha (Boyles) King, Sr. He married Fay Price November 5, 1949 in Franklin County. She survives in Mulkeytown. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Noto of Mulkeytown; a brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Earlene King and a brother, Ernie King all of Sparta and a sister, Janet Loeh of Royalton; eight grandchildren, Mary "JoLynn" and Frank Vigiano of Carterville, Shane V. King and Jenny King, Travis and Lesli Noto, Wilton and Erie King and Holly King all of Mulkeytown, Ryan Owen of Marion and Ashley and April Noto of Carterville; ten great grandchildren, Summer Renee King, Lauren and Garrett Venegoni, Sydney and Trinity Noto, Aiden Baldwin, Alexis Fitch and Havyn, Hadley and Hunter Noto; 1 great great granddaughter, Ellie Nichole Fitch and one great great grandson, Connor King.
His parent; three sons, Bruce Alan, Randy Lee and Gray Lynn King and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Mr. King was of the protestant faith. He was the Owner/Operator of “Noah King, Jr. Trucking and Excavating” in Mulkeytown for all his adult lifetime. Noah was an Army veteran who honorably served his country for two years after graduating from the Royalton High School with the class of 1946. Funeral services for Mr. King will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler with Brother Brent Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be at the Zeigler Cemetery with military grave side rites courtesy of the Zeigler and Orient American Legions, the West Frankfort VFW and Marion National Guard Flag Detail. Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. King are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc., 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959 or the Nursing Home Care Unit (NHCU) c/o VA Medical Center, 2401 W. Main St., Marion, IL 62959.
