WELL KNOWN WOMAN PASSES AWAY TODAY AT HOME AT ORAN

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann (Eliza) Coffman Moyer dies following long illness, Funeral Friday.

Mrs. Elizabeth Coffman Moyer, 87 widow of William Moyer, Civil War Veteran, died early Tuesday morning in the Moyer family home at Oran, junction of Cecil & Wright-Moyer roads, which at a past time was named Angel Street. Death following a long period of ill health. Death claimed her life at 7:20 o’clock, Bronchial Pneumonia.

Mrs. Moyer was a native of Dayton, born there on September 20, 1853, a daughter of David and “Eliza” Anna Elizabeth Coffman , who came to Ohio to establish their home from Virginia. Mrs Moyer is the last of their family of 13 children.

The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Coffman to William Moyer, was solemnized on May 15, 1870, and they spent almost their entire life together on a farm in Shelby County. Their close and happy companionship was ended on December 28, 1937, when Mr. Moyer passed away.

They were the parents of 11 children, 3 sons and eight daughters and they all survive excepting one daughter, Sarah who died 25 years ago. The children mourning her passing are the following: Harvey Moyer, Oran; John Moyer, Troy; Mrs. Ella Printz, Oran; Davis Moyer, Troy; Mrs.Anna King, Piqua; Mrs. Dealia Eicher, Oran; Mrs. Bertha Rudy, Sidney; Mrs. Mary Hentricks, Piqua; Mrs. Lottie Shatto, Sidney; Mrs. Bessie Carter, Kankakee, Ill.

There are 35 Grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren in her family circle.

The late Mrs. Moyer was a faithful member of the Oran Christian Church for over 61 years, and the Sacred Rite of Anointing of that church was administered to her during hr last illness by the pastor Rev. Winn

Mrs. Moyer was a loving wife, a devoted mother , and a kind neighbor, having the respect of all who knew her.

Funeral services are to be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at the home and 2:30 at the Oran Christian church with Rev Winn and Rev Cain in charge of the rites. Friends may call at the family home at any time. Mrs. Moyer rests with her husband William in the old section of the Houston Cemetery.
