Roy V. Woodrum, 73, of Lebanon, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at St. John's Hospital-Springfield.

He was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Bloomington, Ill., to Paul Woodrum and Helen Argadine Gaither, who preceded him in death.

He also was preceded in death by his stepfather, Barney Gaither; two brothers, one infant brother, Robert Woodrum and Ronnie Woodrum.

On May 4, 1955, he married Ann Howard.

He was a school teacher and was retired from the U.S. Army and also worked for the Laclede County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include his wife, Ann, of the home; three sons, Charles Woodrum and his wife, Phyllis, George W. Woodrum and his wife, Linda, and Christopher Woodrum, all of Lebanon; a daughter, Cindy Patten and her husband, Duane, of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Victoria Herdman and her husband, Luke, Lauren, Mitchell, Danyelle, Michael, Steve, Mike, Katie and Breena; two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Ashlea Herdman, a number of other relatives including special nieces and nephews.

Services for Roy V. Woodrum will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel with Father John Brath officiating.

Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army at Fort Leonard Wood, under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
