Ruth S. Andrews, 88, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away at 9:25 A.M. on Sunday, October 8, 2006 in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born on March 18, 1918 in Stillman Valley, Illinois, the daughter of Swedish immigrants, Carl and Hannah (Anderson) Linn.

Ruth married Armour J. Andrews in Rockford on August 24, 1942. He passed away in Rockford on September 6, 1998. She was a wonderful wife, mother and sister, enjoyed sewing, knitting and singing hymns.

Ruth was a bookkeeper at House of Lindberg, Jefco, and Pierce Packaging Co. She was a stay at home mom for many years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and tried to please Him in all that she did.

She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church, Women's Missionary Society, served as Deaconess and Sunday School teacher for many years. Member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, Sunrisers and Geet-sing Circle. Graduate of Rockford Central High School, class of 1936, attended Rockford Business College.

Survivors include: sons, Carl (Nancy) Andrews and Joel (Judy) Andrews; daughters, Gwendolyn (Charles) Holsinger and Lynette (John Lund); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jayne Setterstrom; niece, Karla (Tim) Dabner.

Predeceased by: parents; husband; and brother, Burdette Linn.

Funeral Services on Friday, October 13, 2006 at The Chapel of First Evangelical Free Church, Rockford. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
