John Lee Higdon died May 17, 2017 in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years 1 month 24 days. Gravesite services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Gerty Cemetery in Gerty, Oklahoma entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
John was born March 23, 1969 in Ada, Oklahoma top John Cecil and Freda (Holland) Higdon. He was raised and attended school in Ada. John worked for many years as a Maintenance Supervisor in nursing homes. He met Michelle Tyler in 1989 and were married in 2003. Together they raised their two sons. John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to travel, go camping and fishing, ride motorcycles and go four wheeling, occasionally visits to the casino and listening to the music of Lynard Skynard. John had an amazing sense of humor, loved to laugh and was of the Baptist faith.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Freda Higdon; siblings, Sheila Hatton, Jimmie Ray Higdon, Clary Higdon and Linda Jo Higdon; uncle, Tommy Higdon; and aunt, Mildred Higdon. Survivors include his wife, Shelly; sons, Brandon Higdon and wife, Jacquelyn, Cole Higdon and wife, Faye; grandchildren, Gavin, Grant, Gunner, Kaylee, Brayden; brother-in-law, Thomas Tyler; sisters-in-law, Kandi Allman, Yvette Largent; siblings, Mary Ann Moore, Cecil Higdon, Jamie Higdon and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
