Melba Jean Holmes, 74, of West Memphis, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at her home. She was born in Dyess, Arkansas on July 29, 1942.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lottie Nichols, a sister Reba Yarbrough.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Holmes of West Memphis; a son Bill (Kathey) Holmes of Marion: a sister Lavada Williams of Walnut Ridge; a brother, Robert Nichols of Jonesboro; and three grandchildren, Landon Holmes and Jordan Holmes of Cordova, Tennessee and Logan Holmes of Marion.
She was a member of Missouri Street Church of Christ. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake and do for others. She loved her friends and church family. She was in the Red Hat Society. She was always willing to give her recipes to her friends and to put in cookbooks.
