"Marilyn M. Hansen, age 86, of Plattsmouth, formerly of Ames, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Plattsmouth Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Marilyn was born, May 18, 1930, to Arthur and Lena Legband in Snyder, Nebraska. She attended and graduated from Snyder High School in 1948. After high school, she lived in Fremont, and worked for Hammond Stevens. In 1955, she married Roy Hansen and moved to the farm near Ames. They joined Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont and raised 4 children.

Marilyn was also employed with Belvins Popcorn Plant in North Bend, and Walmart in Fremont for 25+ years. She enjoyed writing letters and always kept up with birthday cards for all her relatives. She enjoyed spending time in the garden, as well as with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy, parents, brothers Arnold, Delbert, Harold and Kennard Legband, sisters Arvilla Kirch, Verena Weitzenkamp, Arlene Legband, Althea Beck, Ardyce Dames, grandson Jeremiah Walling and son-in-law Bob Walling.

She is survived by her children Nancy Walling of Millard, Patti (John) Thomason of Plattsmouth, Steve (JoAnna) Hansen of Cedar Bluffs, Kirk (Theda) Hansen of North Bend, brothers Wilbur, Willis, Allan and Darrell Legband, sister-in-law Sandy Legband, grandchildren Benjamin Walling, Ross (Hannah) Thomason, Malcolm Thomason, Keely Thomason, Ciera (JP) Mruz, Jesse Hansen, Cameo Hansen, Faith Hansen, Allison Hansen, Shane Hansen, great-grandchildren Zoey Mruz, Jaxon Mruz, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Memorials may be directed to family for later designation.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4-7PM at Dugan Funeral Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:30AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Burial will take place at Memorial Cemetery."
