Bernice “Bumbie” Moore was born September 1, 1931 in Gary, Texas, to Ode Ashby and Julia Walden Moore. She attended school in Gary. Bernice worked for Louisiana Pacific as a wood grader and retired after many years of service. She was a long time member of the Murvaul Missionary Baptist Church. Bernice had no children of her own but raised and loved many. She was a giving and loving person to many. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Thurman Moore, Othar Moore, Elmer Moore, Opal Porter, Jean Lowe and Odie Cherry.
