Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM, with visitation Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5:00 until 8 PM at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery in Benson, Louisiana.
DeVelle was born October 22, 1919 in Goss, Louisiana to the late Robert H. Walker and Myrtle Exa Norwood Walker Whitaker. She married Woodrow W. Ellenburg, who was later killed in Okinawa during World War II, and had three daughters: Sandra Henson and husband Ed of Madison; MS, Vonnie Thompson and husband Levi of Natchitoches, LA and Ann Adams and husband Bob of Keatchie, LA.
Later she married the late William Leonard Parker and had one son, Billy Parker, now deceased. She is also preceded in death by her two sisters, Inez Anderson and Top Cranford and also a brother, Frank Walker.
She is survived by her three daughters, a special nephew and his wife, Joe Bob and Peggy Cranford, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her, for her giving spirit, sense of humor, practical jokes, gracious hospitality, good cooking and timely advice.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA or St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, TN. Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath
