Laura Pauline “George” Woodall age 87 went to be with our Lord on Monday May 15, 2017. She was at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pauline was born on June 24, 1929 to Benjamin B. Franklin and Lola Mae Belt Franklin in Glenrose, TX. She was raised in Freer, TX during the oil boom of the early 1930s. Pauline and husband Woody were married October 30, 1944 in Benavides, TX. They were residents of Alice for 65 years. Pauline was a homemaker, business woman, and very active in numerous councils in the community.
She was a board member of the Alice Housing Authority from 1994- 1996, Worthy of Matron in the Order of Eastern Stars, Mother/ Advisor for the Order of Rainbow for Girls. In addition to these roles she was awarded with a Lifetime membership to the Noonan Elementary PTA. When Pauline wasn’t fulfilling her roles in numerous community activities or devoting her time as a loving homemaker, she loved to dance and enjoy the company of family and friends. On any given weekend you would find her watching her UT Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
Pauline is preceded in death by her loving husband, Reginald R. “Woody” Woodall of 69 years, her parents, and her brother Duard D. Franklin. She is survived by her brother Benjamin B. Franklin (Theresa) of Frisco, TX, dearest friend/sister of 60+ years Grace Randall of Alice, TX, two daughters, Nancy Woodall Grizzle (Charles Grizzle) of Fairfield, TX, Paula Woodall Curnutte (Steven) of Kingsville, TX and daughter Lizzie Beall (Richard Cantu) of Alice, TX. She is also survived by her three grandsons Rusty Dickens (Kimberly) of Alice, Texas, Randall Dickens of Alice, TX, and Will Curnutte (Audra) of Carrizo Springs, TX and one granddaughter Erica Curnutte of Seattle, WA. In addition to children and grandchildren she is survived by three great- grandchildren. Lilly Dickens, Weston Curnutte, and Violet Dickens. Pauline is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends and her beloved dog Holly. Visitation will be held at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, May 17, 2017 with family present from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at West Main Baptist Church in Alice, TX on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery east of Alice on Hwy 44. Flowers may be sent to Roberson Funeral Home in Alice, TX.
