After graduating high school, he joined the US Navy. Howard then worked for IBM for a handful of years, after completing their computer programing course in New York. He later worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years, later retiring.
He married Linda Brunmeier on May 4, 1970 and together they had three children. During life Howard enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of the Elks.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wilbur Fletcher, and his son Jeff Fletcher. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Linda Fletcher, his son Robert Fletcher, daughter Michelle (Donovan) Fletcher, and two grandchildren; Leslie and Dylan.
There will be a visitation at Howe Mortuary from 2:00PM to 5:00PM on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017. Cremation to follow, with a private burial in Lafayette Cemetery.
