Margaret Ann Mrenko Adamchik, 87, of Indiana, Pa., formerly of New Kensington, died Tuesday (July 6, 2004) in St. Andrews Village, Indiana, where she lived the last four and a half years.

Born March 23, 1917, in Johnstown, she lived in New Kensington for most of her life before moving to Indiana, Pa.

Mrs. Adamchik was a member of Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and the Alle-Kiski Valley Senior Citizens Center, both in New Kensington.

She enjoyed bowling, baking, art, music, activities at the senior citizens center, taking care of her home and raising a family.

Survivors include five sons, Bill (Kim) Schrock of Ford City, Ronald (Deborah) Adamchik of Kennerdell, Joseph (Dorothy) Adamchik of Greensburg, Bruce (Sherry) Adamchik of Indiana, Pa., and David (Candy) Adamchik of Tarentum; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Emma) Mrenko of Lower Burrell; and three sisters, Veronica Roby of South Gate, Mich., Louise Ray of Lower Burrell and Pauline Uhrin of Latrobe.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Bruce Schrock, Deborah Schrock, Colleen Hyde, Lisa Wolhford, Ronnie Frey, Joseph Adamchik, Tracy Guardasoni, Cheryl Adamchik, Mary Ciesluk, Matthew Woodward, Nicola Adamchik and Joshua Adamchik.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Adamchik; her parents, Joseph and Mary Mrenko; three brothers, Carl, Joe and John Mrenko; and four sisters, Mary Muir, Sophie Allen, Rose Malobicky and Helen Adamchik.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME INC., 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lower Burrell.
