Mrs. Carrie B. Golden

PAYETTE - Mrs. Carrie B. Golden, 92, formerly of Payette, died Wednesday in a Caldwell nursing home.

Born Aug. 30, 1878, in Bentley, Ill. She traveled by covered wagon when a small girl to Dwight, Neb. with her parents. She grew up there and attended schools there. On Nov. 21, 1896 she was married to Henry E. Golden at David City, Neb. They moved to Grand Junction, Colo. in 1899 and farmed. They came to Idaho in 1907 and settled in the Payette area, farming here. Mr. Golden died in 1955 and Mrs. Golden had lived here since. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Surviving are five daughters; Mrs. Reva Bowbrick, Boise, Mrs. Irene Weygandt, Midvale, Mrs. Ethel Dunbar, Montara, Calif., Mrs. Goldie McDaniel, San Mateo, Calif. and Mrs. Mary Bailey, Portland; two sons, Lester of Boise and William Golden of Parma; 23 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 11 brothers, a sister, three sons, and three daughters.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette by the Rev. James Holbrook of the First Christian Church of Payette. Interment will be at Riverside.(Daily Argus Observer, Friday, August 6, 1971)
