Leo Huff Is Buried

Leo Huff, who died Monday evening from injuries received by being run over by a coal car, was buried this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Stone graveyard. Scales' local and the miners of the Big Four mines attending. It was the intention to bury the remains Wednesday but on account of the failure of his father to arrive Tuesday night as expected, the burial was postponed until this afternoon.

A Booneville, Ind., special to the Courier-Journal Monday says:

"Leo H Huff, aged thirty, employed by the Scales Electrical Coal Co., as flat trimmer, received injuries this afternoon which caused his death a short time afterward. Huff fell under the wheels of a car, which passed over him. mangling him so badly that amputation of both legs was necessary."

Mr. Huff was a butcher at this [place], leaves a wife, who is daughter of Mr. J.H. Phifer, of this place, and two little boys. Mrs Huff is in very critical condition and may not survive the shock. The remains of Mr. Huff were expected here last night for burial in the Glasgow cemetery.

First Day as Flat Trimmer Has Fatal Ending.

BOONVILLE, Ind., May 27. - Leo Huff, 30 years old, flat trimmer at the D. Scales Company's electrical coal mine, one mile east of Boonville, died this evening from the effects of being run over by a car of coal this afternoon while at work.

Both legs were amputated and the man died this evening. This was his first day in this kind of work. He leaves a wife and two children.
