Barbara Ann Branca, 75, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine.
She was born and raised in Pittsburgh and was a graduate of St. Paul's Cathedral High School. Barbara worked for Union National Bank in Pittsburgh for 30 years, retiring as an officer of the bank in 1996, and was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She had only recently moved to St. Augustine to live near her daughter and family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William A. Branca; a sister, Nancy Lockwich; and a brother, John Connolly.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Branca and his wife, Laura, of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Kathleen Higgins and her husband, Joe, of St. Augustine; beloved sisters, Patricia Dupuis, of Quebec, and Mary Kaufman, of Pittsburgh; and her grandchildren, John Branca, Alyssa Branca, Megan Higgins and Michael Higgins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 311 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, with a luncheon to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Calabria's Italian Restaurant, 3107 Library Road, Castle Shannon, PA 15234.
