Dona M. Scott, 89, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in PA Peterson. She was born September 24, 1927, in Rockford, the daughter of Courtland and Minnie (Burroughs) Whitson.
Dona was a 1944 graduate of West High School. She married Adelbert E. Scott on June 28, 1948, in Winona, Minnesota. He predeceased her on December 10, 2009. Dona was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
She is survived by: children, Randy (Marsha), Vickie (Michael) Carlson, and Ricky; grandsons, Bradford and Spencer Scott; granddaughters, Jennifer (Steve) Howard, Cynthia (Ryan) Weidner, Michele Carlson, Angela (Dave) Merrifield, and Sarah Scott; great-grandchildren; and sister, Marcia (Dan) Varble.
Predeceased by: parents; brothers, Roger, Reginald, Richard Whitson; and sisters, Carol Whitson and Patricia Houston.
Funeral service on Friday, May 19, 2017, in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rockford. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
