Arlene acquired the nickname "The Egg Lady" because of her beloved hobby creating and designing Faberge style eggs. This unique hobby led to an invitation to appear on The Today Show in 1964, where she presented Barbara Walters with a special egg that was later seen next to Barbara's bed on a Barbara Walters TV special. She also loved any type of needlework, from needlepoint to knitting she was always working with her hands creating blankets and wall hangings that her family will cherish always.
Arlene was a sweet and thoughtful woman that lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by everyone she knew. Arlene is survived by her daughter, Barbara Frey MacBride; granddaughters: Melissa M. Kelley, Heather N. MacBride, and Kimberly M. Frankenfield; grandsons: Adam C. Frey and Wesley J. Frey; and great-grandchildren: Matthew M. Kelley, Bradley M. Kelley, Elizabeth B. Frankenfield, and Riley A. Frankenfield. She is preceded in death by her son R. Dexter Frey, Jr., son-in-law Arthur J. MacBride III, Robert D. Frey, Raymond T. Brogan, and Roland G.C. Young.
