Sylvester Bascom, aged 81 years, died April 9 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E Burgess, near Luther. His wife died 25 years ago, and Mrs. Burgess is the only surviving relative. Burial was made at the Luther cemetery, where a short service was held by Rev. Davis of the Methodist church. Mrs. Burgess has the sympathy of all in her sad loss.
