Marian trained as a nurse in Rochester, MN, and met her husband, Robert Kennedy, while serving as a nurse in the Army Nursing Corps. After 20 years, she retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Marian and Bob enjoyed many years in Virginia, living on the Chesapeake Bay. Bob was a great sailor and made a number of voyages along the Intercostals Waterway with his reluctant co-captain, Marian, who was afraid of the water. In later life, Bob and Marian moved to Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center, FL, where they enjoyed years of golf and fellowship with many good friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert (Bob), and her sister, Thelma (Itse) Rauk. She is survived by her three nieces, Betty Johnson, Cathy Steinhauer (John), Marry Ott (Robert) and three step-sons, David Kennedy (Suzanne), Patrick Kennedy (Judy), and James Kennedy (Ayumaa).
Her service will be held at Freedom Plaza on May 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Bushnell National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
