He was born in Cerignola, Italy on July 31st, 1945 and was raised in north Louisiana, but he resided in Cleveland, Tennessee for the last 25 years. He was a journeyman machinist and served in the US Army from 1963 until 1965.
He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas Alfred LeGrand and Nina Petrozelli LeGrand of Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emily G. LeGrand of Cleveland, TN; his children, Lisa K. LeGrand of Chickamauga, GA, Karen S. LeGrand of Kathleen, GA, and Joseph W. LeGrand Jr. of Cleveland, TN; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
A memorial service will be held on June 17, 2017 at 11:00am in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown, TN, where he will be interred with beloved family. Afterward, a celebration of life gathering will be held at his home.
