Deborah Wilson Burnett, 64, of Pelham, AL, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017. She was born November 17, 1952 in Bessemer, AL.

A fireball of a woman, Debbie was full of joy for her family, with a special place in her heart for her five grandchildren.

For 15 years, she touched the lives of children through her services as a Shelby County bus driver for the Thompson schools system.

Always a life of the party with plenty of comebacks to keep everyone laughing, Debbie enjoyed her many online friends worldwide, with whom she had very close relationships including Sharkie and the gang.

Debbie was a patient and loving mother to her only child, Aaron B. Burnett, and his wife, Keri Weston Burnett. Debbie was also a doting grandmother to her grandchildren, and was affectionately known as the benevolent ruler of Davenport Street.

Debbie is predeceased by her husband, Douglas D. Burnett, whom she married on November 15th of 1969. She is also predeceased by her parents, Adolphus H. Wilson, Jr. and Emma Dean Attaway Wilson.

Survivors include Debbie's son and daughter-in-law, Aaron B. and Keri Weston Burnett; grandchildren, Taylor Blaine Burnett (Jamie Dale Marshall), Savannah Paige Burnett, Ashlyn Mackenzie Burnett, Sydney Reagan Burnett, and Mason Riley Burnett; aunt, Flora Crowson; and caregiver Nancy Rich, her husband George, and their children.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017, Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham. A Celebration of Debbie's Life: 1 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial: Still Cemetery, Elliottsville, AL.
